iQOO 9 to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
The iQOO 9 series is likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device. The company might announce the series in January or February 2022.
After Qualcomm’s latest flagship, smartphone makers are rushing to grab this SoC and release their flagships with this powerful chip. iQOO couldn’t stay behind and is planning to release the iQOO 9 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
We first heard about the iQOO 9 a month ago when it landed on Indian IMEI Database. We didn’t have enough details then. The only thing we could extract from the listing was its model number: V2171A. But today we have something new and have shared it here.
The First Glimpse of the iQOO 9
The most valuable thing we learned today about this smartphone is that it will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. This SoC is equipped with Qualcomm Kryo CPU with a clock speed of up to 3.0 GHz, Qualcomm Adreno GPU, Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF System, and more.
Returning to the upcoming iQOO lineup, the series will include two devices, the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. Both models are likely to have a center punch-hole screen. The base model will have a straight screen, while the other one will have a curved screen. The Pro model is also likely to support 120W fast charging support.
Rumors suggest that the series might also feature a 4500mAh battery and will run Android 12 out of the box.
Though we don’t have the exact release date of the series, we heard it will either come in January or February 2022.
