Kuo: Only Top Model iPhones To have the latest Apple chips in the future

Until now, it was usual at Apple that all iPhones that were presented in the fall had an up-to-date chip. But the group from Cupertino, California is likely to change that for good. At least that’s what the more than reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims. In September, Apple will introduce the iPhone 14 Pro and it will receive – but possibly exclusively – the new A16 chip. Because according to knowledgeable Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo, the cheaper models will have last year’s A15 installed.

Apple is likely to introduce four new devices this year: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, Phone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but only the two high-end models, the last two iPhones, will be really interesting. Because these will – at least according to current information – get a new front design and camera upgrades. With the cheaper iPhone 14 variants, however, hardly anything changes, inside or out.

Dual society

A different design between the lower and upper-class iPhones would not be new, as the iPhone X with several new elements was already available in 2017, while the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were only slightly improved iPhone 7 models. But at least it was then: the chip was the same, namely the A11 Bionic. Kuo’s information has since been confirmed by several media outlets, including Bloomberg. The analyst has now added and written one blog post. The industry expects this decision to lead to the iPhone 14 Pro becoming hugely popular.

Previously it was assumed that the top model would make up between 40 and 50 percent of new devices sold, but that figure has now been increased to around 60 percent. What is especially new is the information that this will always be standard in the future. It was recently suspected that the “top chip for top iPhones” decision could be related to the chip crisis, but according to Kuo, this is a fundamental decision by the company. Reason: As customers buy more and more Pro models, average prices will rise – and with it Apple’s profits.
