Meta doesn’t want to lag behind in AI race

There are many things that come to mind when we think about Meta, but AI isn’t one of them. The business hasn’t made a huge public spectacle of its AI goals. But given that it’s a well-known tech company, information regarding some AI products was inevitable. Well, The Wall Street Journal (via The Byte) claims that Meta is developing a potent new AI to compete with ChatGPT.

The company known to us as Meta is still working to establish the Metaverse. But because the entire AI revolution occurred under the company’s nose, it must adjust to the shifting tech scene.

Meta is working on latest powerful AI

Most people are unaware of the fact that Meta introduced a potent chatbot prior to ChatGPT’s release. Blender Bot 3 was made available by Meta a few months prior to ChatGPT. This was a chatbot, like ChatGPT, that would respond to your input and attempt to communicate with you in a human-like manner. As you can expect, Blender Bot lags ChatGPT significantly.

The business is currently developing a new project. It seems obvious that Meta is aiming this at OpenAI’s GPT-4 LLM (large language model) as a rival. It should be noted, though, that this might not have the same effects. ChatGPT is a tool that can be utilized by regular users as well as by businesses as a business solution. According to the study, Meta’s new AI might only provide business-specific solutions.

Since there is no information available at this time, it is difficult to predict what the corporation will do. What the corporation intends to do with its AI is still unknown. We do know that Meta intends for it to be significantly more potent than its present LLAMA-2 model.

The company will face some competition

Mark Zuckerberg himself recruited the team that oversaw creating this AI. It was created earlier this year in reaction to the success of ChatGPT. Although the business has been developing the model for some time, we shouldn’t anticipate it beginning to train the AI model until the beginning of next year.

This implies that Meta will fall behind in the AI game by a significant margin. GPT-4 is being improved by OpenAI, while Apple, Google, and other businesses are also advancing their AI. There might be real AI carnage for Meta. The economic model of Meta isn’t as heavily based on AI as those of OpenAI or Google, though. So, it shouldn’t matter if the corporation falls behind in this AI competition.
