Microsoft contradicts rumors about that from the next Xbox console. The company invests its own information in its own hardware and refers to the partnership with AMD for future gaming chips.
Microsoft has officially responded to speculation and rumors that the company is said to have set the development of its next Xbox console. The Redmond company emphasized in a statement: “We actively invest in our future first party consoles and devices developed by Xbox.” Microsoft referred to the multi-year partnership with AMD for the development of AI-based gaming chips.
The rumors were created by (alleged) information from a Neogaf user Sneakersso, who had already delivered reliable Microsoft insider information in the past. According to him, the plans for the next generation of consoles should be “in the suspension”, while Microsoft wants to focus more on software and third-party publishing.
As the reason, he cited the high costs by taking Call of Duty in the Game Pass, which allegedly cost the company millions of dollars. How Windows Central Reported, however, confirmed trustworthy sources that the hardware plans are by no means “in the floating”.
The speculation quickly gained driving because they fall into a time when Xbox fans are already unsettled by several controversial decisions. The price increases of the Xbox Game Pass had caused considerable resentment. In addition, Microsoft has been pursuing a new strategy since February and that former Xbox exclusive titles such as Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment and Sea of Thieves also published for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
The production of the Xbox Series X and S continues, and new stocks are delivered to retailers as planned. The already announced collaboration with AMD for tailor-made chips for next-gen-xbox devices from both third-party providers and Microsoft himself underpinned the long-term hardware plans as well as the Redmonian group. Microsoft clearly denied the rumors – but is that enough to regain trust?
