Microsoft introduces ChatGPT-powered Bing and Edge experience for mobile

Several tech companies are trying harder to lead the battle of AI. One such company is Microsoft. Just two weeks earlier the company introduced the ChatGPT-powered Bing Search and Edge browser experience. The ChatGPT-powered experience was provided on the desktop. It was a great initiative since it attracted millions of users from around the world. Given these facts, the company has now decided to empower the Bing and Edge mobile apps with ChatGPT.     

The company states that 64% of searches are carried out on smartphones. For this reason, the company is going to redesign the iOS and Android versions of its respective apps. When a user will click on the search engine of the mobile app, a chat session will begin with conversational AI. The experience will be similar to the one provided with the desktop version. Users can request the responses as per their choices i.e., bullet points, text, or simplified and brief responses.

In addition to this, the company will introduce voice search to the mobile Bing app. It will be introduced to the desktop version as well. The company stated in its announcement post that voice search is a versatile option that will enable users to receive responses from Bing. In addition to this, the company has incorporated the AI-powered Bing with Skype. Bing can be added to any group on Skype. It will provide answers to the queries of the whole group. In short, everyone in the group will have access to the responses generated by Bing.

AI Bing experience on Skype and mobile is available as a preview internationally. Just sign-up for Microsoft’s waitlist in order to gain access to the latest AI feature. The features will appear if the user is already a member of the Bing preview experience.
