Microsoft Investigates Remote Desktop Bug in Windows 11 version 22H2

Microsoft is investigating reports of an increase in disrupted remote desktop connections following the Windows 11 version 22H2 update. The connections often no longer come about. The report comes from Bleeping Computer referring both to error reports exchanged on social networks and to users reporting about the problems in the Microsoft Answers Forum Have written.

Installing the new Windows 11 Version 22H2 feature update causes remote desktop clients to fail to connect, randomly drop the connection, or freeze unexpectedly. Symptoms vary from case to case. The error has not yet been officially confirmed by Microsoft, but that should be the case shortly.

investigation continues

Microsoft is already investigating the complaints. The company is aware of the issues and is reviewing user reports. It is therefore particularly important – and not just for upgrades – that users send their feedback and error reports to the group.

The more qualified reports are available, the faster you can expect a solution. In the meantime, the only option is to roll back the Windows 11 version or temporarily disable UDP connections if that’s an option to bypass the error. In addition, you can Microsoft support page Keep an eye on known issues of the new Windows 11 version.

You will find information there once Microsoft has confirmed the problem. The Windows team then also provides information about possible solutions and gives tips on how to fix or mitigate a problem.
