In an effort to give users more value on Xbox, Microsoft is going to introduce an Xbox MasterCard Credit Card. It will be specifically introduced for gamers. In partnership with Barclays, the company will issue the cards. These cards will earn gamers points for the money they spend. The points will eventually be stored and used up for restoration in games.
The company’s official announcement reveals that the points can be spent directly on games. In another case, users can store them for gift cards. These gift cards can then be used to purchase games or other Xbox products on Xbox.com. Users will get one point for spending $1. According to the company, the first purchase will provide an initial purchase benefit of 5,000 points, which amounts to $50. However, the $50 isn’t worth it when it comes to AAA Xbox Series X games.
In addition to this, the company is offering a free Xbox Game Pass for three months. However, there are some restrictions. It is actually the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate that will be targeted at new members only. Existing and old users won’t benefit from this. Furthermore, it will be accessible on the first purchase so, it will be available with the 5,000 points.
The card is available in five different designs. It can also be customized. Currently, the card will be issued in the testing stage in the US on September 21. Do note that the annual APR is quite high, ranging from 20.99% to 31.99%. In simple terms, it may be good to avoid this card. Or just go through the terms and conditions thoroughly.
