Microsoft Rolls Out Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021 21H2 Update For OEMs

Microsoft has started the release of Windows 10 in the version IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and 21H2 SAC. The hardware partners can use this version with long-term support immediately and benefit from the long support period.

This is reported by MS PowerUser. The information on this comes directly from Microsoft. In the TechCommunity, the group has now announced that it has given the go-ahead for the latest version of Windows for IoT (“Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021”) for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs for short).

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 now available for OEMs

The version has now reached the RTM status. The RTM stands for Release To Manufacturing. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise is the latest operating system for embedded devices and IoT devices. Microsoft manager Martin Tuip reported at the start:

“With each release, we continue to deliver on our promise to bring enterprise-class performance, security, and manageability to the Internet of Things, adding new features and capabilities, some of which are highlighted below.” The new version comes with new functions and thus with new possibilities for manufacturers. At the same time, in addition to the new version for the Long-Term Servicing Channel, an update for the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC for short) will also be launched. The new version is called Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Version 21H2.

  • Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Version 21H2, comes with integrated support for the Microsoft Edge browser
  • Customizable Windows Update experience
  • The update starts soft real-time function support
  • From Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) will be available for both LTSC and SAC in-box
  • Support for GPU computing
  • Added support for WPA3 H2E standards
