Microsoft Rolls out Security Update For Edge Browser

Microsoft has released another security update for the Edge browser based on Chrome. It is a security update without any further changes and fixes the holes that have already been removed in Google Chrome.

Anyone who is already using the new Microsoft Edge under Windows 10 can simply get the update as an auto-update. Little is currently known about the individual changes for Edge directly – this is due to the fact that Microsoft is currently not including any detailed release notes apart from notification of a new update.

The Edge update history just says, “Microsoft has released the latest Microsoft Edge Stable Channel (version 89.0.774.68) which contains the latest security updates from the Chromium project. For more information, see the Security Update Guide.”

About The Changes

The security guidelines cited do not yet contain any details on the vulnerabilities, but so far only a placeholder for the April security report can be found there. Details on some security gaps can already be found on Google, or in the information on the Chrome update. According to Google, eight high-rated vulnerabilities have been fixed. The updates for Chrome and Edge are purely security updates and are therefore strongly recommended to all users.

The Edge version contains all changes that were released as part of the Chromium project. If the Edge team provides information on further details in a timely manner, we will add this.
