Microsoft updates Windows 11 to support USB4 80Gbps

Recently, Microsoft announced that it would soon roll out Build 23615 of the Windows 11 Insider Preview. The new version will be available on the Dev Channel. Reportedly, the new version comes with three main features. Interestingly, the company has added support for USB4 Version 2.0 (also known as USB 80Gbps). It is a new standard for USB Type-C. It offers data transfer speeds of around 80Gbps.

Presently, this connectivity option is available with Intel 14th Gen HX mobile processors. Besides this, it is also offered on a few laptops, like the Razer Blade 18. Although the feature was available on these devices, it was unusable because it was not supported on Windows 11. For this reason, the company has rolled out the feature in this new update. Thus, you can enjoy 80Gbps of bandwidth on your laptop if you install Build 23615 of Windows 11 Insider Preview from the Dev Channel and have a laptop with a USB4 Version 2.0 port.

Copilot now launches on its own

Besides this feature, the company has rolled out two other features. One of them enables Copilot to launch on its own as soon as the device is turned on. This feature, according to the company, will only be available on primary display screens in multi-monitor setups and be limited to devices with a “minimum diagonal screen size of 27” and pixel width of 1920 pixels.

The share window gets some New sharing options

The second feature is the ability to share a webpage link on Facebook, Gmail, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and X (previously Twitter) while using Microsoft Edge or other web browsers that open the share window. In addition to this, the update includes several bug fixes and some modifications to widgets.
