Mini PC in the benchmark and gaming test

Geekom recently introduced the first mini PC with a new Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor. This promises enough performance even for demanding tasks. Our colleague Zenchilli’s Hardware Reviews took a look under the hood of the compact computer and tested whether it was even suitable for one or two gaming sessions in between.

“Ultra Mini PC”

Compared to the Geekom A8, which is also quite new, the GT1 Mega is a little larger, but also offers more connection options, including two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort and just as many HDMI 2.0 slots. This means that up to four monitors can be connected at the same time.

The Geekom GT1 Mega also has an SD card reader and it supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Windows 11 is preinstalled as the operating system. Inside, Geekom uses the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, the top model of the Meteor Lake generation. This is primarily used in notebooks and offers 16 cores with a clock speed of up to 5.1 gigahertz. Geekom specifies the TDP as 45 watts. There are also 32 GB of RAM, 2 TB of SSD storage, an Intel Arc GPU and an NPU unit for AI tasks.

Benchmarks and gaming performance

In Cinebench 2024, the Geekom GT1 Mega scores 893 points. If you activate the performance mode, you can even get 1058 points out of the mini PC. However, the volume increases from 43 decibels to 52 decibels.

Although the Geekom GT1 Mega is not a gaming system, you can still play on it: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 runs in Full HD and activated XESS at 80 to 90 FPS.
