The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi apparently wants to soon compete with Samsung in the market for smartphones with a foldable display. The launch of the Xiaomi Mix Fold2, which should apparently be the thinnest foldable yet, has now been announced for Thursday. Via the Chinese Twitter counterpart Weibo, Xiaomi published the first teaser image of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. A video was also published in which the device can be seen in animation.

It is clearly a horizontally foldable smartphone that should attract attention with its extremely thin design. According to the rumor mill from China, the device will have a main display with a full 8-inch diagonal, which will offer a resolution of 2.5K and a maximum refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. According to previous reports, the LTPO-based panel will have a different aspect ratio compared to the previous model.

The technology under the hood should be state-of-the-art, so it should include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 and 12 gigabytes of RAM. The internal memory would be 512 GB or even one terabyte.
