Money glitch in Forza Horizon 6: Studio penalized exploit users
In Forza Horizon 6, players took advantage of a bug to farm hundreds of millions of in-game credits in a short period of time. The developers have now reacted, fixed the exploit and deleted the users’ ill-gotten assets.

In the racing game Forza Horizon 6, players have exploited a software error in recent days to reach the maximum of 999 million in-game credits in just a few minutes. Through a targeted vehicle configuration in conjunction with the multiplayer mode The Eliminator, the account could be filled effortlessly. Developer Playground Games has now fixed the error with a patch and is intervening in the game economy. The exploit required the use of a GMC Hummer EV.
Players had to drive the vehicle backwards into a wall at low speed. A physics error caused the car to be thrown high into the air. If users started The Eliminator mode during the flight and immediately canceled the event, they received double-digit millions. The studio then briefly deactivated the mode.
How Kotaku reported that the developers are taking tough action, but are refraining from permanently blocking accounts. The studio takes the blame for the programming error. Nevertheless, the illegally acquired virtual money will be removed from the game. Affected accounts will be reset to a maximum of ten million credits. However, some players had bought expensive cars in advance to avoid losing their currency.
Compensation for the loss
To compensate players for the temporary loss of The Eliminator mode, Playground Games is giving out a gift. All users will receive a 2021 McLaren Saber delivered to their digital garage for free. At the same time, the developers have reduced the passive rewards for using the Auto Drive feature. The assistance system controls the car automatically and is no longer intended to collect currency without active participation. The current update brings further targeted adjustments for Forza Horizon 6. The experience points for leveling up in the Horizon Play online mode have been corrected by the developers.
Previously, reaching level 100 took an unintentionally long time. Anyone who has already reached level 32 will now jump directly to the maximum level after installing the update. The patch also corrects the physical properties of certain types of tires. So far, so-called drag tires have offered an unfair advantage when cornering, apart from classic drag races. This led to unrealistic lap times on various routes. This error is now fixed. To ensure a fair playing field for all players, Playground Games will delete old records set using these tires.
