The Epic Games store is one of the major digital storefronts dispensing video games.  Along with the paid games, Epic Games has also been offering free games to download and play. In a new announcement, the company announced it’s still going to offer free games on the platform.

Epic Games just hit us with a major update about how the company has grown in the past 1-2 years and what it plans for this year. The long blog post tells us what games are coming to the platform and more exciting news.Firstly, the company let us in on some of the numbers it’s doing in terms of user count. The company reported that the Epic Games Store is up to about 194 million users in all. That figure is up about 34 million users from 2020. The company went on to say that its daily user count peaked at around 31.1 million users. So, the platform is definitely growing as its user base is increasing.When it comes to the free games, the company states that it gave away a ton of free games last year. There were 89 free games offered for free last year, and that adds up to $2,120 worth of games given away. There were over 765 million free game downloads last year. Of the 89 games, 76 of them actually broke their peak concurrent user records.In the blog post, Epic games stated its commitment to offering free games. We can expect weekly free games on the store throughout the year.

For starters, you have free-to-play games that don’t cost any money, to begin with. This list includes Rocket League, Genshin Impact, Valorant, Fortnite, WarFrame, League of Legends, Magic The Gathering Arena, and plenty more.As for the games that are being offered for free, we have Daemon X Machina. It usually costs $49.99, but it’s free for the time being.  You have until February 3rd to get it for free.The next game to be free is called Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. This is an adventure game with both 2D side-scrolling and 3D aspects. Right now, this game does cost money (it normally costs $29.99, but it’s discounted to $7.49), but it will become free starting February 3rd.
