Nintendo Direct: Zelda, Mario Kart 8 Delux, Fire Emblem, And More

In order to be able to present upcoming games and other news, Nintendo has been using live-streamed direct presentations for some time. In a new issue, the publisher has shown information about the next Zelda title and other games from different series.

New Zelda title gets name and release date

Probably the biggest announcement came at the end of the broadcast. It has been known since 2019 that the Japanese console manufacturer is developing a sequel to “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”. So far, however, the title has received neither a name nor an exact release date.

This has changed now. The game is called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and will have Link scale rocky cliffs and fly through the air on a glider. A trailer for the game previously known as “Breath of the Wild 2” shows several gameplay scenes. The game was originally supposed to be released in 2022. The appointment had to be postponed. “Tears of the Kingdom” will see the light of day on May 12, 2023.

Nintendo has been offering Splatoon 3 since last Friday. Now the publisher has announced that the first Splatfest is not long in coming. The players can choose between three different teams. The question is asked what needs to be taken to a desert island? Each team represents an answer. You can choose between tools, food, and fun. Splatfest begins on September 24th and will end two days later.

New tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The third wave of new tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be rolled out in winter 2022. However, there is no specific date. A total of eight new tracks will be released for free use by Switch Online Expansion Pack owners. Nintendo showed two routes. These are the “Bergbescherung” course known from MK Tour and “Peach’s Castle Garden” from Mario Kart DS. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Two new tracks for the racing game revealed Square Enix title Octopath Traveler 2 will be released for Switch on February 24th, 2023. The game takes the player on an adventure through the land of Solistia.

In addition to the mechanics known from the first part, there should also be new gameplay elements. In addition to “Octopath Traveler 2”, three games from the “Resident Evil” series can soon be played on the switch. The titles are run in the cloud and streamed to the console.

N64 expansion pack gets new games

If you have a Switch Online membership with an expansion pack, you can play some classics on your console. This also includes numerous N64 titles. Pilotwings 64, Mario Party, and Mario Party 2 will be added by the end of the year. In 2023, Mario Party 3, Excitebike 64, 1080 Snowboarding, Pokémon Stadium, and Pokémon Stadium 2 should also be available. Nintendo Switch Online: New N64 games for the expansion pack

Fire Emblem fans can look forward to new offshoots

After the great success of the Switch title “Fire Emblem: Three Houses”, it seems logical that Nintendo should launch another offshoot of the strategy role-playing game. Intended to bring characters from past installments of the series, Fire Emblem Engage takes the player on a mission to save the continent of Elyos.

Fire Emblem fans don’t have to wait long for the “Three Houses” sequel. “Fire Emblem Engage” will see the light of day on January 20, 2023. The announcement trailer also reveals that there will be a collector’s edition called “Divine Edition”. The limited edition not only contains the game itself, but also a steel book, artwork cards, an artwork book, and a poster. Fire Emblem Engage: New Strategy RPG for the Switch

Pikmin fans have been speculating about a new installment in the series for a long time. Now Nintendo has officially announced Pikmin 4. However, only a short teaser was presented at Direct. Gameplay has not yet been seen. In contrast to the previous offshoots, the camera should be more at the level of the Pikmin. Pikmin 4: Teaser announces release next year
