Nintendo Switch Pro To Launch This Week

According to new leaks, an updated version of the hybrid console Nintendo Switch Pro will be presented this week. In the run-up to the virtual E3 2021 and a possible Nintendo Direct, there is even talk of a start of pre-orders on June 4th.

The Nintendo Switch is currently one of the best-selling consoles worldwide. But a few years have passed since the launch in March 2017 and an update that promotes battery life in September 2019. In terms of performance, the hybrid of handheld and stationary game consoles cannot keep up with the next-gen systems Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 (PS5). In return, the Japanese have so far been able to successfully assert themselves with many exclusive titles and a mobile concept. Nevertheless, the time for a performance upgrade seems to have come, at least if you trust the leaks.

Two sources predict the Switch Pro release

The leaker@Shpeshal_Nick only wanted to know on Monday that Nintendo will announce the long-awaited Switch Pro in a direct (mini) live stream on Thursday (June 3rd). Although the event could be postponed, the Twitter user @CentroLeaks, known for Pokémon revelations, also speak out. Insiders are said to have leaked receipts from a well-known US retailer predicting the entry of new Nintendo hardware for June 4th. An official confirmation is still pending.

Earlier: Pac Man 99 Coming To Nintendo Switch Soon

It would be a logical step on the part of Nintendo to present the Switch Pro in advance of important events so that developers can give a preview of their new titles shortly afterward. The Summer Game Fest starts on June 10th as a kick-off event for the virtual Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3 2021) that will follow on June 12th. With regard to the hardware of the Switch Pro, there is currently the talk of a 7-inch OLED display, improved Nvidia chips with Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), and a correspondingly higher resolution of games.
