Nokia is likely to send the Android 11 update to two more old phones – the Nokia 8.1 (2018) and the Nokia 2.3 (2019). The process would be conducted in phases.
According to a source, this announcement was made by HMD Global. The two smartphones are already receiving the update to the latest stable version of Google’s OS.
The company has also shared its plan to roll out the updates. For the Nokia 8.1 (2018), the company would start sending out the Android 11 update for users residing in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Macau, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. 10% of the owners carrying this model would soon receive the update notification, 50% would get the update by April 10th, and the remaining would receive the update on April 12th. Then, Nokia would expand its exposure to other countries as well.
Then comes the Nokia 2.3 (2019). LG would start the rollout in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Latvia, Laos, Lithuania, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, Norway, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sweden, and Vietnam. Similarly, users holding this model would get the update notification, i.e., 10% would get the notification immediately, 50% would get the update by April 10th, and the rest would get the update on April 12th.
The company would start sending the update to other part of the world.
