Nokia G50 Cheap 5G Smartphone Exposed

HMD Global continues to fight for relevance in the smartphone market and is now preparing to introduce another comparatively inexpensive model with 5G support, the Nokia G50. The Nokia G50 is primarily intended to appeal to price-conscious buyers in the lower price range.

For the Nokia G50 5G, which appears in the colors midnight sun and blue, HMD relies on a combination of mostly simple components, which you try to round off with a few small highlights. The device is in plastic housing and has a fingerprint reader attached to the side, which is housed in the power button.

According to the first dealer information, the Nokia G50 has installed a 6.38-inch LCD panel with a teardrop-shaped recess for the front camera on the upper edge. The display itself is only an HD + panel, as it has a resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels, which is comparatively grainy for its size.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 480 5G does its job, which is a SoC equipped with eight to two gigahertz fast ARM cores with an integrated 5G modem from Qualcomm. The chip is the entry-level model in Qualcomm’s 5G-capable portfolio, so it will probably not be able to offer any performance miracles.

Three Cameras Not Four?

Further specifications are so far only very limited because the dealer information leaked a few days ago is not very trustworthy. So in some talk that the device reportedly has four rear cameras, while we present further official marketing Render of HMD Global shows only three cameras on the rear panel.

In the course of a social media post by HMD Global in France that was accidentally published too early, the manufacturer confirmed a few days ago that the Nokia G50 will have a main camera with 48 megapixels resolution. According to information from the USA, the battery should be quite generously dimensioned with 4850 mAh. In connection with the economical 8-nanometer chip Snapdragon 480 5G and the low screen resolution, very decent runtimes should be possible, the device will probably be available at a price of a good 230 euros in Europe.
