On February 5, Apple will launch the 2024 Swift Student Challenge

According to some recent pieces of information, the applications for the next Swift Student Challenge will begin next month on Monday, February 5. The news was shared by the company with the developers. With its November announcement, Apple gave students plenty of notice to get ready for its early 2024 launch.

In case you don’t know, the Swift Student Challenge is aimed at the creation of an innovative coding project based on the Swift Playgrounds app. Apple evaluates entries based on their technical proficiency, originality of concept, and quality of written responses outlining the project. For the current year, the company will select 350 winners. Among these winners, a specific category will further distinguish 50 winners for standout submissions.

The company will invite these distinguished 50 winners to its headquarters in Cupertino, California. In this way, the winners will get a chance to connect and collaborate with their peers and the Apple team. However, the company will offer a free one-year membership in the Apple Developer Program to all winners.

For several years now, Apple has been conducting the annual Swift Student Challenge. Usually, the company announces the challenge around the time of the WWDC announcement. Apple sends invites to past winners for attending the Worldwide Developers Conference. According to the company, the 50 Distinguished Winners of this year will receive invitations to Cupertino “next summer.” Students will have three weeks, starting on February 5, to submit their app playgrounds to Apple.
