OnePlus 9 Pro Camera Overheating Problem Reported

Anyone who has bought OnePlus 9, or more precisely the Pro model, must obviously be prepared for the fact that the camera keeps saying goodbye to heat problems. Apparently, the new top smartphone can overheat very quickly.

As the operator of one of the largest Android portals in the world, Artem Russakovskii from Android Police, recently discovered that the OnePlus 9 Pro can overheat. The problem arises especially when you take photos or videos in quick succession or want to record a longer clip.

Overheating camera is not an isolated incident

Russakovskii is not alone with his problem, because the heat problems also occurred from India and from other testers of the new top smartphone from the Chinese brand OnePlus. Obviously, you don’t even have to put too much strain on the camera, because in some cases it should refuse to work when taking just a few photos over a period of several minutes, referring to the device is too hot.

The users report that both the camera app can display a corresponding message and a warning can be issued via the system notifications. If you exit the camera app and put the smartphone aside for a little while, the behaviour of the device will normalize again and photos will be possible again.

The error apparently also occurs at normal room temperature and is particularly annoying because the camera can no longer take pictures when the heat warnings appear. OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus 9 Pro’s camera unit heat issue is a known bug. The aim is to deliver software updates in the coming weeks that will eliminate the causes so that the device’s camera can do its job properly in the future.

In fact, it seems to be a bug, as some testers noticed that the smartphone reports overheating, but actually a “normal” temperature is indicated by the built-in hardware sensors in system monitoring apps. So it is possible that a threshold value for the heat message has been set too low or there is another software error.
