PC Market is Expected To Rise Again

or some component manufacturers, the bottom of the PC market has apparently already been reached. Due to the recently launched new products such as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, they assume that demand will now pick up again.

If you believe the information from the Taiwanese industry service DigiTimes, not everything is bad in the PC market anymore. Although some large manufacturers such as Dell, HP, and a few weeks ago Lenovo have secretly laid off large numbers of employees, the prospects for component manufacturers are no longer consistently bad.

Various suppliers of components are assuming that they will be able to do good business again this year. Although the forecasts for the first half of the year are still not particularly rosy, there are already signs of improvement in some areas. Above all, DigiTimes contacted the suppliers of cooling solutions, who told their colleagues that the latest Nvidia GPU, for example, is causing sales to increase again.

Nvidia GPUs and Intel ensure demand for coolers and power supplies

The manufacturer Auras Technology, which specializes in cooling solutions, reports that the number of orders has already increased and that sales from the sale of coolers for graphics cards will increase by around 10 percent this year. Increasing demand is also expected for servers, which is why Auras is assuming around 30 to 40 percent growth in sales from this market segment.

The expectations for the year 2023 are also high for the well-known manufacturer Thermaltake Technologie. Although Thermaltake was also affected by the poor market development in 2022, double-digit growth is now expected this year. Thermaltake also cites the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti as a driver of its sales growth, which is likely to return to pre-coronavirus levels in 2023. Because Intel now requires newer power supplies and Nvidia has higher energy supply

requirements with the GeForce RTX 40 series, Thermaltake also expects a decent growth in demand for power supplies. Customers, therefore, have to adjust to rising prices for such products in the medium term.

It remains to be seen whether the number of units for finished PC systems will soon increase again because it is also becoming apparent that the inventories of the manufacturers have almost reached a normal level again for notebooks.
