Pixel 9A Leaks: Google Ditches the Camera Bump (Almost)

The Pixel 9A is already turning heads, and new leaked renders seem to confirm some exciting changes. According to Android Headlines, Google is moving away from the prominent camera bump we’ve seen in recent years. While there’s still a tiny hint of a bump when viewed from the side, the phone’s flatter design is a refreshing throwback that many smartphone fans will appreciate.

The renders also reveal that the Pixel 9A will come in four stunning colors: black (Obsidian), white (Porcelain), pink (Peony), and purple (Iris).

Camera Upgrades and Battery Boost

The Pixel 9A will pack a 48-megapixel main camera (a slight downgrade from the Pixel 8A’s 64 megapixels) alongside a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens. On the front, you’ll find a 13-megapixel selfie camera.

Battery life is getting a boost too, with a 5,100mAh battery—significantly larger than the 4,492mAh battery in the previous model.

Pricing and Release Date

Android Headlines reports that the Pixel 9A will start at $499 for the 128GB model, with a 256GB option available for $599. Google is expected to officially announce the device on March 19th, with a release date set for March 26th.

What Else to Expect

Rumors suggest the Pixel 9A will feature a 6.3-inch screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, Google’s Tensor G4 chip, and 8GB of RAM. Storage will max out at 256GB, making it a solid option for budget-conscious buyers.

Of course, the Pixel 9A won’t be launching in a vacuum. Apple’s fourth-gen iPhone SE is rumored to be on the horizon, giving Google some stiff competition. Stay tuned as we wait for Google’s official announcement!
