Pixel Fold is offering Spatial Audio through its speakers

The only Pixel that supports spatial audio through its speakers is the Google Pixel Fold. Last year, Spatial Audio was released, but it required headphones. until now, that is.

The speakers on the Pixel Fold do enable spatial audio

Be aware that for this to function, you must activate it. Spatial Audio through speakers is switchable in the phone’s settings. This option is naturally located under the ‘Sound & Vibration submenu. You can flip between “Wired headphones” and “Phone speaker” once you’ve located the Spatial Audio section and opened it.

Why was this chosen for the Pixel Fold rather than another Pixel?

As for the Pixel Fold, it boasts two main speakers, one on top and one at the bottom. When the gadget is unfolded, they are on opposite sides, which results in superior stereo separation than on ordinary phones.

Google states the following on its support page: “On Pixel Fold, you can enable spatial audio for phone speakers. The immersive engagement you get with headphones is more like what this function brings to your listening experience.

It is important to note that using headphones will, of course, make the experience more immersive. Therefore, using headphones is recommended if you want to get the most out of it, although having this choice is also good.

The Pixel Tablet doesn’t support spatial audio at all, so the answer is no

Undoubtedly, some of you are considering whether the Pixel Tablet is in the same situation. No, is the response. Spatial Audio is not only not supported through its speakers, but it is not supported at all.

Hardware-wise, it should be able to do so, but we’re not sure why that isn’t the case. Perhaps Google intends to provide support for it in the future, or something similar. Your hunch is just as valid as ours. All we can do is wait and see.
