Pixel Watch will soon be updated with Fall Detection feature

The Google Pixel Watch by Google is the first-generation of smartwatch. Knowingly the device has various limitations. But it also holds some advanced and excellent features. Back in October 2022, Google introduced the Pixel Watch. Since then, it has received various software updates. Interestingly, the smartwatch by Google is a health-focused wearable. It holds the Emergency SOS feature. This feature enables building an emergency connection during a crisis. Besides these specifications, the wearable by Google lacks a feature found in various other smartwatches. It misses out on the fall detection feature. It is now reported that soon this feature will be introduced to the product.

According to a tipster from 9to5Google, while resetting the device, he noticed the feature of fall detection in the Settings of Pixel Watch. Reportedly, the feature appeared on the device that was updated with the December upgrades having version RWD9.220429.070 of the smartwatch. Thus, it suggests that soon the feature could roll out as a server-side update. Furthermore, the option of Fall Detection is also showcased on the Pixel Watch phone app for the user.

If you are excited about this new feature, you can also try resetting your device. However, be careful before doing that. Since the smartwatch is not provided with a backup prior to a factory reset. Additionally, the same feature has been reported by a Reddit user as well. This feature will enable the user to place an emergency call once a hard fall is detected. So, we can say that such a feature is quite useful as well as lifesaving.

One thing to notice here is that the company has mentioned that the feature won’t be available across different regions and languages. Furthermore, if the users hold the Bluetooth-only version of the smartwatch, a connection with the phone will be needed in order to place an emergency call.
