Polestar is an electric vehicle manufacturer. Reportedly, the company is collaborating with Meizu to try out something different from its business line. According to the available information, the partnership will help Polestar enter the smartphone market. Polestar and Meizu will work on and debut a new flagship smartphone before the end of this year.
Notably, the upcoming smartphone will feature impressive hardware and software characteristics. Polestar wants to provide prospective customers with a preview of the software experience they may expect from the company’s electric cars. The recent collaboration with Meizu is a strategic partnership since Meizu is working on Polestar’s infotainment OS.
Currently, we have no clear indication of the upcoming smartphone. However, some reports indicate the software features of the upcoming smartphone. Notably, the smartphone will debut with the same vehicle’s infotainment system software. It will ship with Meizu Flyme OS, which will be customized to match the Polestar branding.
The upcoming Polestar smartphone may not use Android, similar to Meizu smartphones. Its characteristics can be compared to those of any new Meizu 20 series device. Additionally, this upcoming smartphone might have a high price, which would indicate that it would have amazing specifications.
Currently, Polestar has three electric vehicles on the market. Now, the company’s portfolio will expand with the addition of a smartphone. Besides Polestar, some other electric vehicle brands, like Nio, are also planning to enter the smartphone market.
