Recently, Huawei confirmed that the Nova 12 series will be official before the end of this year, i.e., on December 26 in China. The devices are now available for pre-order from JD.com, the company’s official flagship store. According to details, on December 26 in China, the pre-sale for the Nova 12 lineup will start at 16:08 PM local time. The Nova 12 series will be included in the Pioneer Plan, allowing customers to reserve their smartphones in advance of the official release date, in a move that is akin to that of the Huawei Mate 60 series.
Reportedly, the Nova 12 series consists of four members. These include the Nova 12 Vitality Edition (Nova 12 Lite), Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro, and Nova 12 Ultra. The price of each model will be different. The Lite Edition will be priced at around 1,000 yuan, the standard version will lie in the 2,000 yuan price range, and the Pro and Ultra variants are priced between 3,000 and 4,000 yuan, respectively.
From a hardware perspective, the Nova 12 Vitality Edition and Nova 12 are 4G models that are powered by Snapdragon chipsets. Reportedly, the Nova 12 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G chip. It has support for 66W fast charging. On the other hand, the Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra are rumored to be powered by an under-clocked version of the Kirin 9000s chip. For those who are unaware, the Mate 60 series, which made its debut in September and October of this year, was originally seen to be powered by the Kirin 9000s. There are rumors that the Nova 12 Ultra will include two-way satellite communication capabilities as well.
Moreover, recently, a report regarding the key specs, configurations, and prices of all four members of the series emerged. Besides this, the report includes details that point out that the company is working on the Huawei Pocket S2 flip-style foldable phone. However, there are no details on whether it will debut with the Nova 12 series or not. Some other reports indicate that the launch of the Pocket S2 has been delayed until 2024.
