Samsung Galaxy A72 Design Leaked Via Dummy Phone

Samsung has had a good year despite the pandemic, and the company has no plans to take its foot off the gas yet. Although the company has pushed the launch of its 2021 editions of the Galaxy S flagships (which we showed you earlier), it is also working on a new version of the Samsung Galaxy A72. The leak, thanks to David from @xleaks7 via Pitgtou, shows us the design of the aluminum-like device.

Samsung Galaxy A72 design

Looking at the new design, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy A72 will be a powerhouse of mid-range cameras. The device has no less than five circles on the camera module on the back. Since the circles are nearly the same size, it is assumed that they will all be filled with camera sensors and lenses. The device also has rounded sides which make it very similar to the design used by Samsung in last year’s Galaxy S20. The volume control and power button are located on the left of the phone, while the right side is empty.

The best part about this choice is that you can have a 3.5mm headphone input on the bottom, something that many phones don’t have nowadays. The headphone jack has a hole for the microphone, a USB Type-C port, and the speaker grill nearby.

Samsung Galaxy A72 specifications

Not much is known about the specs of the Samsung Galaxy A72 at this point, however, the previously leaked news has shed some light on that too. The Galaxy A72 is rumored to work with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720 chipset and that it will have 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. It is still unclear whether Samsung will use one of its in-house Exynos chipsets for specific countries, but this places the device firmly in the mid-range segment. Rumors have also said that one of the cameras will be a 64MP sensor and the phone will have both 4G and 5G variants, presumably meant for different markets. With a 6.7-inch display, a selfie camera with a perforated grid is also expected.

Samsung Galaxy A72 release date and price

Samsung has not yet announced the launch date for this device, but it is launching the next generation Galaxy S flagships on January 14 instead of the usual March launch. Hence, it is fair to assume that the Galaxy A72 should also arrive before its usual launch schedule, in March of this year, around the time of the Mobile World Congress. It is possible that Samsung will keep the secret and make it part of its MWC portfolio. The phone is expected to be priced between $ 600-700 for the 5G variant, while the 4G version is expected to be cheaper at $ 500-600.
