Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Design Revealed In New Images

The next big presentation from Samsung is about two weeks away – in addition to new smartphones, the second generation of Samsung Galaxy Buds is expected. We got our hands on marketing images of the Galaxy Buds 2 and information on technical details.

After previous leaks of the new Buds 2, we were able to exclusively find additional pictures of the in-ear headphones and the associated charging case. It is the dark version of the Galaxy Buds 2, which is described as “graphite”. As confirmed by previous leaks, Samsung will launch the new in-ear headphones in several color variants. In addition to graphite, this includes a classic white and light green. Externally, the Galaxy Buds 2 have been changed quite a lot. Instead of the first-generation bean design, Samsung has opted for an oval design, which is more reminiscent of the Galaxy Buds Pro, which was launched at the beginning of the year.

According to our information, the new wireless in-ear headphones should come with “AKG signature” sound and active noise cancellation (ANC). The “Galaxy Buds 2 offer powerful, natural and distortion-free sound from AKG” says the marketing materials we discovered. Samsung has installed three microphones so that clear conversations are possible even in noisy environments.

Specifications

Samsung relies on an integrated AI and ‘touch’ control for easy operation of the Buds 2. In addition, the new in-ears should be splash-proof and sweat-resistant according to the IPX2 standard and support Bluetooth 5.2. The new Buds 2 can then also be connected to smartphones from other manufacturers via Bluetooth, but then do not have the same range of functions as in connection with a Samsung smartphone or wearable. Samsung states a battery life of around 20 hours with ANC, and if you turn off the noise suppression, you get around 29 hours.

New charging case

As with the Pro Buds, the charging case is now square and no longer a slim rectangle and charges the Buds 2 in five minutes for one hour of listening. The recommended retail price (RRP) of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 will be 149.99 euros including VAT.
