Samsung Galaxy F62 Comes With Exynos 9825 And Massive 7000mAh Battery

Aside from the new A-series, Samsung also has other irons in the fire to make life difficult for aspiring manufacturers like OnePlus. With the Samsung Galaxy F62, there is now a smartphone that still attracts price-conscious customers with a gigantic battery and powerful CPU.

The Samsung Galaxy F62 is basically Samsung’s answer to the cheap but well-equipped devices from Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, all of which are on the rise in markets like India. Above all, the F62 should attract customers with a good display, a huge battery and the use of a well-known flagship SoC in conjunction with lavish camera equipment.

The Galaxy F62 has a 6.7-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display, which has a sufficiently high resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a hole for the front camera placed in the middle on the upper edge of the display. The panel supposedly covers 110 percent of the NTSC color space and achieves an average maximum brightness of up to 420 candelas.

Top SoC from the Galaxy Note 10 is celebrating a comeback

Under the hood is the Samsung Exynos 9825 Octacore SoC, which was used as a high-end processor in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 from 2019. From today’s perspective, the chip offers more than sufficient performance and reaches up to 2.73 gigahertz. It is roughly on par with the Snapdragon 855, which was also used in the flagship smartphones of 2019.

At least in India, where the Galaxy F62 comes onto the market first, the customer has the choice between a model with six gigabytes of RAM and 128 GB of internal flash memory and a variant with eight GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, the latter always being the latter can be easily expanded using a microSD card slot.

The cameras of the Galaxy F62 should also convince: the device offers a main camera with 64 megapixels, which Samsung provides an ultra-wide-angle camera with 12 megapixels as well as two 5-megapixel cameras for macro shots and depth effects. A 32-megapixel camera does its job on the front.

To keep costs down, Samsung has moved the fingerprint reader to the side here. When it comes to the battery, however, no savings are made at all. The power storage of the Galaxy F62 is 7000mAh larger than in any other current Samsung smartphone and should therefore enable runtime records. The battery can also be charged quickly using the supplied 25-watt power adapter.

Other features include common elements such as dual SIM, GPS, 4G-LTE, ac-WLAN, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a USB Type-C port and a headphone jack. Everything is put together in a plastic housing, which is of course not waterproof in this price range. The customer can choose between the colors black, blue and green. The operating system is Android 11 in conjunction with the Samsung One UI.

The sale of the Galaxy F62 will start in India from next week, with prices starting at only Rs23,999. It remains to be seen whether and when the new model in the F62 series will also be launched in Europe and other regions.
