Samsung is now rolling out the May 2021 Android security update to the Galaxy S20 series. The latest Android security maintenance release (SMR) started in Germany. The update comes with firmware versions G98xxXXU7DUDB.
This update also comes with a few improvements. There would be improvements in camera performance and Quick share. The same improvements came with the Galaxy S21 series.
This Quick Share is Samsung’s own file sharing service, which lets you share everything – photos, videos, and documents – with up to five friends simultaneously. Just like Google’s Nearby Sharing and Apple’s AirDrop, Samsung’s Quick Share can also show “which of your contacts is nearby” so you can easily send files to them.
Samsung has already started rolling out the latest Android SMR to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy S20 series.
The update is said to be 600MB and is rolling out in Germany (as already mentioned). If you live in Germany and owns any of these devices, you could manually check for the update by heading towards your phone’s Settings > Software update > Download and install.
