Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Leak Disappoints With Inferior Display

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 could be very different from its predecessor, as suggested in a leak revealing part of the technical sheet of the device. We now know more about device screens. The leaker @chunvn8888 shared on his Twitter account information about various folding smartphones, including the future Galaxy Z Fold 3 from Samsung. The table reveals interesting information about the dimensions of the two screens of the smartphone.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Z Fold 2 offered a 6.2-inch external display last year, but its successor would feature a smaller AMOLED display of just 5.4 inches. We can also note that the leak announces that the external screen would keep the same definition since it would be Full HD + (816 x 2260 pixels) in 21: 9 format.

Galaxy Fold 3 First Foldable With 2 Hinges

The table also reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will use a 7.7-inch internal screen in 4.3: 2 format, against 7.6 inches on the previous version. This rectangular format would indicate that Samsung’s folding smartphone would be the first to have two hinges and that it could fold into a Z shape. This screen will be compatible with LTPO technology, which allows it to dynamically vary its rate of 10 Hz to 120 Hz refresh depending on the content displayed.

We knew Samsung would be releasing a folding smartphone that folds in three by the end of 2021, and it appears to be the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The latter looks very promising since we also know that it is ‘would be the first smartphone from the Korean manufacturer to have a camera under the screen. For now, it’s unclear whether Samsung will use this technology on a single screen or both, but we do know that it will offer a 16 MP selfie camera on the internal display and a 12 MP one on the external display.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is also expected to have a dedicated S Pen slot, like the Galaxy Note from previous years. This would explain in particular the disappearance of this range this year since Samsung does not intend to present a Galaxy Note 21 this year.
