Samsung is restructuring itself: Galaxy & Others now being developed entirely with AI

Samsung Electronics has announced a group-wide realignment in which artificial intelligence will be integrated into all of the group’s “business processes”. It is said that all employees should develop all products using AI.
All parts of the group should use ChatGPT, Gemini
The South Korean electronics giant Samsung wants to fully rely on the use of generative artificial intelligence in all areas in the future. The company announced an all-encompassing “AI transformation,” which it internally referred to as “AX.” Samsung is thus continuing the “complete change in working methods and organizational structure” announced by CEO Lee Jae-yong at the beginning of the new year, it is said. The company wants to introduce AI in all eight key divisions, including development, purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, marketing, service and management support. As early as June, various externally developed generative AI services such as Google Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic Claude will be introduced to all corporate divisions.
AI boot camp arranged for management
The aim is to promote the group’s “innovative capacity” in all areas, according to a report by ETNews Not only software development and marketing should be affected, but also development and manufacturing. Samsung also wants to introduce various new operational guidelines that will be implemented for various tasks and organizational areas. The heads of the various corporate divisions are said to have to go through an “AX boot camp” in which they are supposed to complete an “intensive AI training program”. The approximately 2,300 managers of Samsung affiliated companies under the approximately 50 different “presidents” of the various departments will also receive appropriate training by August at the latest.
According to the group’s plan, all employees should receive AI training by the end of the year. In the background, parallel to the introduction of the various external AI services, we want to introduce our own security guidelines in order to avoid possible problems that arise when using the external AI solutions. For customers, the company-wide use of AI at Samsung probably means that the company will increasingly use corresponding materials in its public relations work. In the future, AI will probably also be used more and more frequently in the design of Samsung’s software and in the devices marketed by the company. Internally, however, the aim is, as usual, to make massive cost savings.
