Samsung Launches New Smart Monitor Offers Work And Entertainment Combined

The Korean manufacturer Samsung offers a whole range of smart TVs and Tizen has been used as the operating system for a while. This not only has friends but if you have no problem with it, the new smart monitors may be of interest.

A computer screen is usually one thing: a screen. The reason for this can already be found in the original word because a computer is connected to a monitor and this offers everything you need for “smart” applications. Nevertheless, Samsung is now trying a new smart monitor. With the new device series, the Korean manufacturer wants to create a new all-rounder that brings work and entertainment together, according to the report.

At the start, the new monitor will be available in two versions: the M7 with 32 inches, which supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD), and the M5, which is Full HD-compatible and is available in 32 and 27 inches. The screens, which run with Tizen OS as mentioned, offer HDR10 support, the content is provided by apps such as Netflix, Apple TV, and YouTube.

More like a TV than a monitor

The new smart monitors have 5W speakers and remote control is included with the devices. Bixby 2.0, Alexa, and Google Assistant are supported, and Samsung has even included AirPlay 2 support. Even so, the devices are more like small televisions than classic PC monitors and also more like standalone computers that operate via the cloud. Keyboard and mouse can be connected via Bluetooth 4.2, so that Office 365 can be used via a virtual machine. You can also use Samsung’s own DeX, so the smartphone can be used as a PC replacement. So it’s more like a smart TV that you can do some work with than a real monitor. In short: a marketing spin that is unlikely to be of interest to real computer users.
