Samsung Plans to Remove Chargers from all its Future Phones

Samsung

On Monday, Samsung revealed that it is planning on removing chargers from all its future phones. Previously, Apple removed chargers from the iPhone’s retail box, and then Samsung did the exact same with the Galaxy S21. This induced rumors about whether future Samsung phones will come with chargers or not, which has now been confirmed by the company itself.

As per the reports, Patrick Chomet the Head of Customer Experience Office at Samsung stated that we believe that the gradual removal of charger plugs and earphones from our in-box device packaging can help address bearable consumption issues and remove any pressure that consumers may feel towards repeatedly receiving pointless charger accessories with new phones.

This specifies that Samsung plans to remove chargers, earphones, or any relevant Samsung accessories out of all retail boxes soon. Though, as Chomet says, this is going to be a gradual change, meaning that it will not affect all devices instantly.

The accessories will likely be removed from leading phone packaging first, before becoming less common in all Samsung phones. This means that the future foldable phones or the Galaxy Note 21 may not have a charger in the box, but that is only a rumor for now.

The reasons for the elimination are the same as Apple and Xiaomi, which is for the sake of the environment.
