Samsung ready to unveil Bixby 2.0 next week during developer conference

Samsung is ready to organize its annual developer conference in San Francisco Next week, the event is going to take place on October 18 and 19. According to a report published in Korea Herald, Samsung is most probably going to showcase it’s Bixby 2.0 at the event, the report also highlights the change in the key role of smartphone assistant, Samsung reportedly made new head who is looking after Bixby development because of “Lackluster” response to it.

The new head Chung Eui-suk is now leading Samsung’s service intelligence group and will play a key role in Bixby development. Chung has been working with Samsung for some time now and has previously worked in Samsung R&D department, now the previous head Rhee In-jong is off the field as Samsung’s mobile chief technology officer.

The idea that Bixby is struggling to clearly understand all the commands and English version of Bixby was also delayed by a couple of months, still many consider it beta and not a fully polished product.

After all that, there is still a room for improvement, the big thing next you can expect during the event is the announcement of a newer Bixby version. Samsung is expected to announce the newer version of Bixby at the developer conference. Bixby 2.0 version would remove the “Chink In Armor” in the previous Bixby 1.0 version and fill the gap it currently it carries.

Samsung is expected to offer more developer participation during the event in order to expand Bixby even further with third party products and services, including those that don’t fall in the smartphone category.
