Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at Galaxy Unpacked event
Just today, the South Korean tech company introduced its next-gen foldable smartphones. in this short piece, we will have a close look at the specs and features of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 features are not quite surprising
Beginning with the SoC, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor by Qualcomm. It is paired with 12GB of RAM and three different internal storage configurations 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. One thing to notice here is that the storage is non-expandable and it might vary depending on the market just like the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The main display measures 7.6 inches. It is a QXGA+ (1812 x 2176) Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. The company refers it to as the Infinity Flex display. It supports a 374 ppi and a 120Hz refresh rate (adaptive, 1-120Hz). On the other hand, the cover display measures 6.2 inches. It is an HD+ (2316 x 904) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 402 ppi. This panel also features a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is adaptive (48-120Hz).
Galaxy Z Fold 5 supports wireless charging
The smartphone is powered by a 4,400mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. The package doesn’t include the charger. The smartphone reaches 50% charging in just half an hour. Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 supports Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 (15W), and Wireless PowerShare (reverse wireless charging).
The camera of the Galaxy Z Fold 5
On the back, the smartphone features three cameras. Besides this, a single camera is provided on each of the two displays. On the back, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 contains an under-display camera
A 4MP Under-display camera can be spotted on the front. Whereas a 10MP selfie camera is featured in the form of a display camera hole. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes pre-installed with Android 13 and OneUI 5.1.1 skin. Other connectivity features include support for Bluetooth 5.3, 5G, iIPX8 certification, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, two nano SIM card slots, and an eSIM feature.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes in three color variants
It is offered in four different colors in most markets. The four different colors are Cream, Icy Blue, and Phantom Black. Like the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is also available in exclusive color options from Samsung.com. These are Blue and Gray. In the unfolded state, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 measures 154.9 x 129.8 x 6.1mm while in the folded state it measures 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm. The phone weighs 253 grams.
