Samsung will initially produce 500,000 Galaxy Rings

It appears like the landscape of wearable market might change in 2024. The South Korean conglomerate Samsung shared the details about its upcoming Galaxy Ring at MWC 2024 event. It is expected to debut in second half of 2024. Another tech giant, Apple, is also reportedly working on a smart ring.

The main concern about a smart ring is its selling point. We are not aware what Samsung is aiming for. However, some reports from Korea indicate that Samsung will produce around 400,000 and 500,000 units of the Galaxy Ring in the initial phase. Honestly, this is not quite a big number but this is just the beginning. After assessing initial sales and the early response from the market, Samsung will increase production of Galaxy Rings.

It appears like the company is having a hard time guessing the high demands for the Galaxy Ring sizes. Recently, the company unveiled that the smart ring will be available in nine different sizes and three colors. In comparison to other smart ring manufacturers, there is a sizable number of variations for a single device.

The company is going for a strategic and calculated approach for the new product. From the initial details, it appears like the company will be required to manufacture more than 500,000 Galaxy Rings throughout the lifetime of the product. On the other hand, Samsung Health enthusiasts are also excited about the new product given its potential for measuring health and fitness data.

The company claims that the wearable will feature new sleep-tracking features. Thus, those who prefer traditional or analog watches will be able to fully utilize the Samsung Health platform without the need for a smartwatch thanks to the Galaxy Ring. Not to mention that the tiny wearable might have a nine days’ worth of battery life. Of course, things will become clearer with time.
