Samsung’s outstanding software update program will soon extend to new participants

When it comes to software updates in the Android smartphone segment, Samsung for sure is the top brand. Last year, the tech company decided that it will introduce four major OS updates to all its flagship smartphones. The promise was fulfilled for its Galaxy A series as well as the smartphones that were introduced in 2021.

In line with the current strategy of the Korean tech giant, other companies are also trying to follow the similar footsteps. Besides this, the list of eligible devices for four OS updates is small as of right now. Since the tech firm announced its software policy back in 2022. However, it is expected to grow bigger in the coming weeks with the launch of the Galaxy S23 series. It is quite evident that all the members of the Galaxy S23 series i.e., Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra will receive four major OS updates.

All three models of Galaxy S23 will be running Android 13 with One UI 5.1 out of the box. they will continue receiving updates until Android 17. Before the end of the official update, the devices will receive final security updates. Side by side we can expect some minor or major updates depending on if any worse situation arises.

It is quite interesting that the devices will be eligible for four major OS updates. We can expect Samsung continues with its recent software policies and extend them to more Galaxy smartphones.
