SheKab Becomes The Only Pakistani Startup Selected For Norway Katapult Accelerator

SheKab is the only Pakistani startup selected to become a part of Norway-based Katapult Accelerator. It is selected along with 11 other Startups. Katapult Accelerator provides guidance to new Startups. 1000 candidates participated, out of which 12 were selected and SheKab was the only one selected from Pakistan.

Hira Rizvi is the founder of SheKab. SheKab addresses the issues Pakistani face in daily mobility. The idea is that if mobility is made easier, more women can go out to study and work thus leading to women empowerment. So SheKab offers safe, secure and reliable solutions for traveling specifically for women.

As per statistics 50% women issued complaints of harassment in public transports. Moreover, traveling to work consume almost 40% of women salaries. Issues like these were resolved by SheKab.

There is an online platform provided by SheKab to connect passengers with drivers. The startup provides an opportunity to both male and female drivers to drive the car.

On July 31st, 2017, Katapult welcomed the 12 start-ups. Katapult will now provide training, coaching and mentoring to the start-ups. Few other start-ups part of Katapult accelerator is Sensewaves from France, OTTAA from Argentina, Needslist and ImpactMapper from the USA, and CodersTrust from Bangladesh.
