The Best-Selling iPhone 15 Model According to Ming-Chi Kuo

In probably two weeks Apple will present its new iPhones (the date is not confirmed yet, but likely). There are already predictions as to which new Apple smartphone will be the most popular, including from the renowned Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo.

iPhone 15 Pro Max: 35 to 40 percent of sales

It is hardly necessary to explain at this point that Ming-Chi Kuo is currently the best-known and most reliable Apple insider. The analyst working for TF International Securities has the best contacts in the supplier industry and also in Cupertino, so his predictions often hit the mark.

Kuo has now commented on the possible or expected sales of the new iPhones and sees a clear winner there: the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to Kuo, this will account for between 35 and 40 percent of sales, which means that the group is out the Californian Cupertino will also focus on its most expensive model.

However, this prediction is not a big surprise, because just yesterday we reported that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best-selling smartphone ever. According to Kuo and internal Apple calculations, the upcoming Pro Max model will sell even better than the current one, with the company apparently expecting an increase of around ten percent.

In his latest report published on Medium, Kuo writes, “This means Apple is bullish on the Periscope’s selling point, which is only available in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.” What is meant by this is the new periscope lens, which Apple will most likely install and which enables a better optical zoom. However, this will probably be found exclusively in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

That better optical zoom will come at a price, however, as rumors have it the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be $200 more expensive than its predecessor. According to Kuo, this is mainly because the production costs of a periscope optic are four times higher than that of a conventional lens. However, Kuo confirmed rumors that the periscope lens will be available for the “smaller” iPhone 16 Pro next year.
