The budget-friendly Galaxy Tab A9 series is now official

The South Korean conglomerate has debuted its budget-friendly tablet series of the year besides the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE series consists of premium mid-range models. Notably, the new Galaxy Tab A9 series comprises the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+. The new series is available in India. It will soon expand to other markets in the coming weeks.

Features of the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+

The display of the Galaxy Tab A9 measures an 8.7-inch LCD with WQXGA resolution (1,340 x 800 pixels) and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The tablet is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage is expandable via microSD cards. The tablet accompanies a 5,100mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy Tab A9 features a 2MP selfie camera and an 8MP back camera. It includes a Dolby Atmos-powered dual-speaker setup.

In comparison, the Galaxy Tab A9+ features an 11-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The storage is expandable with a microSD card slot. It packs 7,040 mAh. However, the charging speed is unchanged.

The Plus model features an AKG-tuned quad-speaker setup. Other connectivity features of both tablets include GPS, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0. Both members will receive at least two major Android OS updates. Both tablets come in Wi-Fi and 5G versions. They have support for a physical SIM as well. They come with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 out of the box.

Price and availability of the Galaxy Tab A9 series

Currently, the series is only available in India. It will soon be available in other markets. The Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab A9 comes with a price tag of ₹12,999 whereas the 5G connectivity is priced at ₹15,999. On the other hand, the 8GB+128GB version with Wi-Fi connectivity of the Galaxy Tab A9+ is available for ₹20,999 and the 5G version is priced at ₹22,999. Both tablets come in three different colors, i.e., Dark Blue, Gray, and Silver. They can be purchased from Amazon India.
