In accordance with some recent pieces of information, OnePlus has postponed the launch of its foldable i.e., OnePlus Open. The above-mentioned information comes from a tipster named Max Jambor.

The tipster shared the recent information on Twitter. According to the tipster, the company has decided to postpone the launch given the main display of the smartphone. It appears that the BOE display that was intended for the OnePlus Open won’t be used.

Instead, the company now plans to use Samsung panels. Previously, the tipster claimed that the company would debut the OnePlus Open on August 29. But it doesn’t appear to happen now. As of now, there are no further details about the launch of the OnePlus Open. Perhaps it might be unveiled in October. This is in accordance with the tipster’s guess, but he is not sure about this.

OnePlus recently confirmed the official name of its foldable smartphone

Some previous rumors suggested that the forthcoming foldable smartphone from the company might be named OnePlus Fold. But recently all the rumors were rejected following the official confirmation by the company that the smartphone will be named OnePlus Open. The company might have opted for this name to ensure that the device stands out from its competitors.

The term “Fold” was made popular by Samsung, and many other businesses adopted it. It might not be a bad idea at all to take a different strategy. Sometime ago we came across some renders about the OnePlus Open sourced out by CAD. The renders indicate that the upcoming foldable by OnePlus will feature a similar form factor as the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Besides this, some rumors suggest that OnePlus Open will feature a similar design to the OPPO Find N2. Samsung offers an entirely different form factor than what the Find N and N2 delivered, thus either OPPO intends to make a modification or the CAD-based models are inaccurate.
