The MacBook Pro models could face further delays in their release
Apple is soon going to introduce two new versions of the MacBook Pro. Reportedly, these versions will measure 14 inches and 16 inches in size. In addition to this, the two new products are expected to feature M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. According to a new report, it is anticipated that the products may be further delayed for release.
Last year, in June, the 13-inch MacBook Pro was introduced. It was based on an M2 chip. Given its earlier release, the analyst anticipated that the company could introduce the next MacBooks Pro [14-inches and 16-inches] models before the end of 2022.
Besides this anticipation, in October 2022, the CEO of the company, Tim Cook, mentioned that the product lineup of Apple products was decided. This statement by the official denoted that the new MacBook Pro models couldn’t make it before the end of the year. According to a new report by DigiTimes, we can expect further delays given the release of the forthcoming models of MacBook Pro. However, the report has not mentioned any timeline depicting the release of the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro line.
In December 2022, the collaborator of the company i.e., TSMC reportedly began the manufacturing of 3nm chips. These chips were ordered for utilization in the future generations of Mac, iPhone, and various other Apple products. Aside from this, a piece of previous rumored news suggested that the company could use the 3nm chip process manufactured by TSMC in their forthcoming MacBook Pro lineup.
In advance of mass production, the company changed its production order. According to the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company cut the orders by around 30% in September 2022 for the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro line.
