The most recent software update brings AI features to the OnePlus 11 and 12

Recently, the South Korean conglomerate Samsung debuted its Galaxy S24 series. The series was hyped for its AI-powered features. It seems like this new approach by Samsung will spread across the industry soon. With a recent ColorOS upgrade, OnePlus has subtly unveiled its own AI features in China.

Reportedly, the company has rolled out the new updates to the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11 in the Chinese market. The firmware version for the OnePlus 11 is PHB110_14.0.0.403(CN01), and the firmware version for the OnePlus 12 is PJD110_14.0.0.405(CN01). One thing to mention here is that the AI offerings by OnePlus are not as extensive and significant as Samsung’s. Notably, the update includes three generative AI features.

The first is an AI summarizer that can provide phone call summaries that include important details like the time, location, and other pertinent information. Secondly, it contains an image editor named AIGC Remover. It enables users to erase anything from photos. It is the same as the AI photo editing feature available on Samsung and Google Pixel smartphones. Last but not least, the update includes an Article Summarizer feature. As the name suggests, the feature will provide quick summaries of articles with just one click.

In addition to AI features, the update has some other interesting features. One such feature enables users to unlock the device by using the fingerprint scanner without waking the screen. QQ Music may now be controlled by users on Always-On Display, and the screen recording indicator can be shown as a floating window or in the status bar. Furthermore, the update improves the stability and compatibility of Bluetooth, NFC, and WLAN networks. It also tackles the problem of network signals in areas where the environment is similar to that of a subway.

As mentioned above, the AI features are currently limited to the Chinese version of ColorOS. Given the fact that ColorOS and OxygenOS are built on the same foundation, there is a chance that the features might be rolled out to the international variants of the OnePlus 12 and 11 models at some point in the future.
