The Netflix on Us updates from T-Mobile are far worse than we initially anticipated

Recently, it was reported that T-Mobile introduced some changes to its Netflix on Us promo. All customers who signed up for the Basic Netflix subscription under the promotion would be switched to the Standard with Ads plan by the carrier, according to a claim based on internal documents. As of now, a report by The Mobile Report suggests that the changes are something entirely different that we had not expected.

The publication is based on internal sources and the texts that were sent to consumers who have subscribed to plans. According to the report, all consumers of T-Mobile who are currently accessing Netflix on Us via carrier will now be shifted to the Standard with Ads plan. Notably, the current plan of subscribers won’t be considered for this change.

In other words, the current subscribers of Magenta Plus/MAX or Go5G Plus/Next tier who are currently accessing Standard Netflix for free and without ads will be relegated to Standard with Ads plan. Sadly, there is no alternate or solution to this. In the FAQ section of its dedicated Netflix on Us page, T-Mobile has additionally verified the modifications to its agreement. The corporation announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the new plan regulations will take effect on January 24.

Users can view in 1080p quality on two screens simultaneously with the Standard with Ads Netflix package. Ads are included, of course, in contrast to the standard Netflix package. On the other hand, if a user wishes to access the ad-free Standard plan, they can do so by paying a discounted price of $8.50/month. It gives users a discount of $6.99 per month in contrast to paying Netflix directly.
