Vivo is set to debut its Vivo X Fold 3 series in China in March. Reportedly, the series includes the Vivo X Fold 3 and the X Fold 3 Pro. The Pro model will feature top-notch specifications, whereas the standard version will be a more affordable option. Recently, the tipster Digital Chat Station shared details about the primary camera of the foldable, possibly the X Fold 3 series, on Weibo.
The tipster is talking about a foldable phone that is anticipated to have a light and thin form factor similar to the Vivo X Fold 3 series. The tipster reveals that the smartphone will feature a periscope telephoto lens and an OmniVision OV50H main camera. In the past, some reports suggested that the standard version of the series wouldn’t feature a periscope telephoto camera. From this perspective, we can assume that the above-mentioned information refers to the Vivo X Fold 3.
In addition to this, some other reports suggest that the Vivo X Fold 3 will feature a 64MP periscope telephoto camera. In the past, the company used the OV50H as the main camera on the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro. There is a chance that both the X Fold 3 and the X Fold 3 Pro will feature the same main camera. The two upcoming foldables will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets.
Unlike the Pro model, the standard version will lack wireless charging and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner. The X Fold 3 might accompany a side-facing fingerprint scanner. It is expected that the company will unveil the Vivo Pad 3 tablet and the Vivo X100s smartphone for the Chinese market at its launch event scheduled for March 2024.
