The Play Store now offers the option to sync apps between several phones

The tech giant Google is about to introduce a handy and useful feature to the Play Store. Reportedly, the tech company is going to add a sync option to the app. Such a feature will enable users to sync all apps on their smartphones. Previously, the feature was provided for Android tablets, Wear OS smartwatches and Android TVs that were signed in with the same Google account.

Play Store is going to receive a sync feature for smartphones

The tech company Google has introduced several new features to the Play Store over the past few months. Last year, Google introduced a feature that enabled users to remotely install any app on their devices. Such a feature works by selecting a device followed by installing the app from the current device. Users can get information regarding the download progress. However, the feature is only presented with wearables, tablets, and TVs.

Google seems to be finally altering that. Android Police received alerts from users that reported a new option in the Manage applications and device area of the Play Store. It can be accessed by clicking on your profile avatar presented in the top right corner of the app’s main page. “Sync apps to devices” is the new selection, which is located above the two “Share apps” buttons (Send and Receive). When you tap it, a new page with a list of all the Android devices connected to your Google account appears.

The company states that the apps that will be installed on this device will also be installed on synced devices. The only requirement is the compatibility of the connected device. Users will have to make a manual selection of devices they wish to sync apps with. Once the devices are selected, they will be applicable to all future installations.

This feature doesn’t support existing apps

Of course, this feature is a great thing for users that use multiple smartphones. However, the feature doesn’t permit the syncing of already existing apps. This feature is only presented with fresh installations. Furthermore, the tech company can make modifications for app updates as well. Apps might install automatically. But this is not the case with the updates. Since users have to manually update all the devices or wait for auto-updates. Well, we hope that the tech firm improves the feature in the upcoming months.
