The Snapdragon X35 from Qualcomm offers 5G to IoT devices and smartwatches

The tech industry is progressing at rapid speeds. With every passing day, we come across interesting news and stuff. Now, the company Qualcomm has announced that 5G will be presented to various small gadgets. The portfolio of small gadgets consists of smart glasses, IoT, and smartwatches. Reportedly, the company has unveiled the Snapdragon X35 5G modem. The new Snapdragon X35 will power a range of 5G devices.

As per the information, the Snapdragon X35 5G is unique. It is the first 5G NR-Light modem-RF system. It has the capacity to empower a new wave of 5G. since it has the potential to fill the gap between mobile broadband devices [high-speed] and NB-IoT devices [extremely low-bandwidth]. The new modem by Qualcomm is compact. It has a low power requirement. In addition to this, the company has assured that it will work on introducing improved thermal efficiency.  

The new small-size modem-RF system has support for backward compatibility. It offers support for both LTE and 5G NR-Light. Furthermore, it has the provision for 20MHz bandwidth. Similarly, it brags Multi-Mode NR sub-6GHz SA (standalone) 5G compatibility as well as LTE Cat4. The company claims that the Snapdragon X35 5G has the capacity to provide 220Mbps of download speed and 100Mbps of upload speed. Moreover, it has support for location tracking (L1 and L5), VoLTE, VoNR, and uplink slot aggregation.

Certainly, the new Snapdragon X35 5G is built for small gadgets. Still, it can be utilized in other devices like PCs, Chromebooks, Routers, and others due to the fact that it consumes less power. In addition to this, the company has also introduced the Snapdragon X32 5G. It is a modem-to-antenna solution. It is specifically built to reduce complications and fuel cost-efficient NR-Light devices. 5G smartphones have been introduced since 2019. While smaller gadgets like smartwatches are still restricted to 4G LTE connectivity. The company further states that the new Snapdragon X35 and Snapdragon X32 will be introduced for customer sampling in 2023. However, commercial products based on the new modem solutions will arrive in H1 2024.
