The Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid Arriving in Europe, Orders Are Open Now

Orders for the Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid are now open in France, and some other EU countries for shipping from the end of 2022. The Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive versions will not arrive until 2023.

Tesla announced the availability of its Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid vehicles in Europe by press release on August 3, 2022. French consumers can now order one of these cars on the official Tesla website, which has been updated for the occasion with the latest features, options, and prices. Deliveries to customers will begin between November and December 2022.

As a reminder, the Plaid versions update the Model S and Model X released in 2012 and 2015 (in 2013 and 2016 in Europe) respectively. These benefit from a new interior, an improved powertrain, new temperature management, new electronics, a new chassis, lower weight, and slightly refined exterior styling.

The Model S Plaid has a range of 600 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. Its three powerful engines with carbon-coated rotors enable it to reach 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds for a top speed of 322 km/h and development of 1,020 hp. It is marketed in France for €138,990. The Model X Plaid has a range of 528 km according to the WLTP protocol. The electric SUV goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and goes to 262 km/h at top speed. The three powerful engines with carbon-coated rotors produce up to 1020 horsepower. The starting price is set at € 141,990.

Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Versions for 2023

Many options can then increase the bill. For example, on a Tesla Model S Plaid, the standard color is pearl white. It will cost you 1800 euros to choose the black color and 2200 euros for gray, blue or red. The 21-inch rims instead of 19-inch are sold for 4900 euros. Interior color change, Autopilot, and fully autonomous driving are also available for a fee. Finally, Tesla says European deliveries of the Model S and Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive will begin in 2023. It is not possible to order any of these vehicles at the moment, but the brand is already allowing users to make reservations.
