The Witcher Season 4 Premieres This Month with Liam Hemsworth as the New Geralt

The fourth season of the fantasy series The Witcher starts this month and for the first time Liam Hemsworth will play the witcher Geralt of Rivia. Netflix has now released a new trailer in advance, which also reveals details about the plot, but otherwise clearly puts the action in the foreground.

Separate adventures

After the finale of season 3, Geralt (Liam Hemsworth), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan) are separated from each other and must initially pursue their goals alone on a war-torn continent. The story will continue, at least for now, in three separate storylines. What the new preview also makes clear: All three meet new, unexpected allies on their travels. A particularly prominent newcomer here is Laurence Fishburne, who takes on the role of Regis.

As in the original book, the higher vampire will accompany Geralt on his further journey and thus help him in his search for Ciri, who has now gone into hiding under a new name as a member of the rat gang. The fight against the renegade wizard Vilgefortz, led by Yennefer, will also reach a new climax in the new episodes. Yennefer also has to continue to deal with the loss of her mentor and mother figure Tissaia. However, a reunion of the three heroes is not expected in the fourth season, but rather in the fifth season.

On the way to the final

With this, Netflix would like to bring the story of the witcher Geralt of Rivia to a conclusion, with the last two seasons being based on the novels “Baptism of Fire”, “The Swallow Tower” and “The Lady of the Lake” by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Witcher, Season 4 premieres worldwide on Netflix on October 30, 2025. From this date, all eight new episodes will be available to watch.
